Enhancing the cybersecurity training report

Campaign summary report is a tool that provides IT admins with detailed client insights into cybersecurity training campaigns.

At OpenText, I led the enhancement project of the campaign summary report (CSR). Though kickoff was 3 months after joining OpenText, I quickly acquired the necessary knowledge and contributed meaningfully to the project’s success.

Improved IT admin workflows by combining fragmented campaign data into one page, making progress tracking easier and enabling faster delivery error resolution.

Solution 1

Resolve campaign delivery errors based on type.

Enhanced single-site reports display detailed delivery error types, offering actionable insights for IT admins. A support link is also available for resolving complex issues.

Solution 2

Resend campaign emails to multiple organizations at once.

The multi-site report provides IT admins with a unified view where they can identify campaign delivery errors across organizations and resend emails to affected clients.

Solution 3

Optimized PDF reports for simplified campaign progress communication.

IT admins can now easily communicate campaign progress with their clients by generating PDF versions directly matching the digital format from single-site report.

Impact

Phase 2 exceeded our target metrics and outperformed expectations based on user feedback.

Feedback was recorded from usability tests involving 5 participants who were frequent users of the campaign summary report before its revamp. They expressed words of satisfaction, commonly stating that the new interface was easy to narrow down delivery errors and convenient error resolution flow.

Takeaways

Learning to negotiate within a cross-functional team!

Leading the CSR project enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of collaboration with diverse stakeholders. I worked closely with product managers, software engineers, and UX researchers. The opportunity to collaborate with those who did not have the same expertise as me taught me how to communicate my designs effectively.
